Update 2

My body fat index is 31.2. April says it needs to be around 25 and according to her, it won't be that hard to achieve.

Also today I jogged 5 miles an hour for 2 minutes in 1 minute intervals. According to April, for someone who doesn't run, that's kinda a big deal.

I don't care if she's just trying to boost my confidence, I like it!

It was a really good work out today. I'm trying to do everything right and really push myself as hard as I can go. I felt/feel so good after that session.

I love it.

Update 1.1

According to an online quiz (not the end all of course):

The following results are for the Dietary Supplement Helper For Women

The combination of a multivitamin-multimineral, an additional calcium and magnesium supplement, an Omega 3 supplement, extra vitamin C, plus a B Complex will help you to maintain your health.

That is based on if I'm not taking anything right now.
So, Looks like the supplements I'm taking are just fine!

Update 1.

Okay, so I should have the results of my evaluation tomorrow. As soon as I get them I'll be sure to post them. That's my starting point. I have a professional to help me from that point on.

I can tell you that my poundage goal has been determined to be to lofty. I am to try for a 15 pound loss. That does not mean that I'm too keep all my fat. I'm to make it mostly muscle. So, only having too loose 15 verses 25-30 pounds seems alot more in my reach. Still, it will take a lot of work, now I'm looking at loosing pant sizes in stead of just fat. So, maybe by Christmas I'll be in a comfy size 10.
I'd like to be in a 8 by the end of January if its possible.

I wonder what I'd look like in a 6...probably too small. I think 8 will be good.

I'm more a Marilyn Monroe body than a twiggy anyway. why loose my curves?

So, tomorrow will both suck and be great. It will be hard, but man I look forward to it. I'm already sore from just trying out the machines.

I'm also supposed to keep a 7 day diet journal. I'll post that at the end of the 7 days along with the evaluation on that.

Plus I'm taking the following supplements:

Equate brand Ephedra Free Diet Smart with EGCG Multivitamin/Dietary Supplement
with 2500 IU (100% as beta carotene) Vitamin A- 50% Daily Value
60 mg Vitamin C- 100%
400IU Vitamin D- 100%
30 IU Vitamin E- 100%
80 mcg Vitamin K- 100%
1.9 mg Thiamin- 127%
2.125 Tiboflavin- 125%
25 mg Niacin- 125%
2.5 mg Vitamin B6- 125%
400 mcg Folic Acid- 100%
7.5 mcg Vitamin B12-125%
12.5 mg Panthothenic Acid- 125%
300 mg Calcium-30%
18 mg Iron- 100%
50 mg Magnesium- 12%
15 mg Zinc- 100%
70 mcg Selenium 100%
2mg Copper- 100%
2 mg Maganese- 100%
200 mcg Chromium-167%
32 mg EGCG- No DV Established

Spring Valley brand Enteric Coated Fish Oil (3 times daily)
While there is no established DV Fish oil contains Omega-3 Fatty Acids which are good for the heart and Circulation. The oil will also assist if you have problems with dry eyes (which I do)

NOW Brand Acetyl-L Carnitine (3 times daily)
No DV Established
Is supposed to be Fitness support.
Claims it Transports Fatty acids
Boosts Celluar Energy
and according to the lady at the holistic medicine place it will also help boost short term memory.

I'm pretty much just taking these because I had them sitting around the house. Once I've finished with them (or just can't tell they are helping) I'll invest in a more complete multivitamin and discontinue the extras. Obviously I also need more fiber. I'll add that too later.

In the begining.

As part of my mission 101, I am in the process of getting healthy. So what is this blog for? Progress reports.

Look, I'm your typical american. Divorced, two kids, work 8 hours a day with 2 hours commute (thats both ways, not one). I eat out too much, I'm depressed, I'm busy, ect. I have a myriad of excuses NOT to find time to be healthy. Well, I'm going to go against my inclination to make excuses and just jump on being a heathier person.

I'm going to post pictures and measurements of my progress. Yes, for a while the pictures will be unpleasant.

As of today I am 5' 10" (obviously that part won't chage) and 170 pounds. According to webmd.com :
Max "Healthy Weight" 174 lbs.
Current Weight 170 lbs.
Target Weight 140 lbs.
Current BMI 24.4
Target BMI 20.1
Your current weight is within the range of normal weights. This corresponds to a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 24.4.

Your target weight is 140 pounds. Though your current weight is already within normal limits, your slimming goal remains reasonable, because once you reach 140 pounds, your new BMI will be 20.1, still inside the "normal" range.

So while (according to a webpage) I am not overweight, I'm not exactly thin either. Nor (and more importantly) am I healty. I don't eat well, sleep well, or excersize.

The plan?

Work out
Eat better
take vitamins.
Sounds easy of course, but we all know it isn't.

What I plan on doing is with in the next few days post a picture of me (not that you'll enjoy it) along with all my current measurements.

Then biweekly I'll put up a new picture and new measurements so we can all (we...haha, i know no one reads this) see my progress.

If I can get healthy, anyone can.
